Thanks to "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me," a million-selling crossover disco single that lit up the black singles, club play, and pop singles charts, Peter Brown's debut album for TK Disco offshoot Drive, A Fantasy Love Affair, also placed high, reaching number six on the black albums chart.
Though "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me" and "Dance With Me" are clearly intended for clubs, the remainder of the album also shows flashes of a less-cynical Steely Dan in songs like "A Fantasy Love Affair" and "It's True What They Say About Love." The other half of the album is well-crafted by multi-instrumentalist Brown, if nondescript.
[Collectables remastered the album for CD release in 1998 with no bonus tracks.].
