A Swingin' Little Christmas is the non-soundtrack singing debut of Emmy-winning actress Jane Lynch.
It arrives a year after her run as Sue Sylvester on all six seasons of TV's Glee, and three after her Broadway debut in the 2012 revival of Annie (she took over the role of Miss Hannigan in 2013).
As described by its title, the album offers mostly lighthearted swing arrangements of ten Christmas classics and five originals.
Lynch's bright, agile vocal delivery appears alongside fellow comedic actress Kate Flannery and Glee vocal arranger Tim Davis, who together navigate in and out of tight three-part harmonies.
The singers are backed by the Tony Guerrero Quintet, whose leader penned the original tunes, including the comedic "Sentimental Christmas" and the more elegant "Winter's Never Cold (When You're Around)." Covers include "We Three Kings" and an especially jaunty "Up on the Housetop.".
