At only 16 years of age, Luis Coronel became an industry sensation in 2013 with his Del Records debut, Con la Frente en Alto.
But his third full-length, Ahora Soy Yo, sets him apart artistically, as Coronel -- not yet 20 years old -- was given complete creative control over the recording of the album, from songs and composers to production and musician choices.
This is almost unheard of in the Latin albums marketplace from such a young artist.
The end result contains everything from banda romanticos ("Siete Palabras" and "Tal Como Eres") to acoustic ballads ("Eres [Mi Bella Fan]"), soulful dance tunes ("Las Matemáticas"), and steamy, soulful cumbias ("Me Voy de Rumba," which contains a funky bonus version in collaboration with Farruko).
The album's debut in the number one spot on the Top Latin Albums chart is confirmation that fans resonate with Coronel's vision.
