For years, George Winston serviced radio stations with edited versions of selected songs, singles and highlights from his solo piano recordings, but he never issued these edits commercially.
He waited to release these single versions until 1998's All The Seasons of George Winston: Piano Solos, a 17-track collection of highlights from Autumn, Winter Into Spring, December, Summer, Forest, Linus & Lucy: The Music of Vince Guaraldi and Ballads & Blues 1972.
Most of Winston's familiar themes, with the exception of "Linus & Lucy," are here, as are four previously unreleased tracks: the live "The Cradle," "Sandman," "Music Box Dance" and "Sleep Baby Mine." The result may not be as enchanting as the December album, yet it's still a good choice for the casual Winston fan, and even his devoted followers will find these edits different enough to warrant a purchase.
