For their second album, Ken Yokoyama's old punk group Hi-Standard continued their straightforward punk aesthetic.
Deliberately flat vocals, extremely high-speed guitar riffs, and rapid-fire drumming are all part of the mix on a set of extreme original compositions and a handful of interesting covers.
Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" gets an ultra-fast makeover, as does the Who's "The Kids Are Alright," both of which gained the band some fans, though Hi-Standard's bigger hit cover of Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" came later, on the Love Is a Battlefield EP.
