Continuing his recent love affair with all things Gallic, rock icon Iggy Pop follows up 2009's Michel Houellebecq-inspired Preliminaires with a collection of largely French-language cover versions, Après.
Its ten tracks feature renditions of Edith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose," Serge Gainsbourg's "La Javanaise," and Joe Dassin's "Et Si Tu N'Existais Pas" as well as interpretations of English pop classics from the Beatles ("Michelle"), Cole Porter ("What Is This Thing Called Love?"), and Frank Sinatra ("Only the Lonely").
