Xoel López has released about a dozen albums, either under the moniker Deluxe or with outfits Lovely Luna and Elephant Band, but 2012's Atlántico is the first he chose to sign with his real name.
The album is a belated consequence of López's decision to move to Argentina in 2009, in search of peace and inspiration after years of hectic activity as one of the foremost representatives of the Spanish indie pop scene.
Atlántico, on the other hand, is a strictly singer/songwriter affair, consisting of 12 acoustic guitar postcards culled from López's travels and touring across the American continents from Buenos Aires to New York, and is strongly influenced by South American folk music.
