Following 2004's success with Astromantic, Japanese DJ duo m-flo returned the next year with Beat Space Nine, a themed album built around the idea of providing in-flight entertainment for space excursions.
The duo delves even deeper into the use of guest singers in Beat Space Nine, with Emyli, Yoshika, and other songbirds featured on a variety of tracks, as well as a surprise appearance by onetime m-flo member Lisa in the track "Tripod Baby." The album proved successful for m-flo, bringing the duo to the number one slot on the Oricon charts.
