Many reviewers have compared David Helpling's music to Patrick O'Hearn's music.
Such comparisons, while not without merit, are not totally accurate.
Helpling has unique qualities to his music and demonstrates them on Between Green and Blue, his debut CD.
He works in a symphonic style similar to O'Hearn's, but his soundscapes have deeper atmospheres and lighter touches.
While this is not a bad CD, it is not a great one; it neither challenges nor offends.
It will appeal to fans of Software, Christopher Franke, and John Flomer.
