It took two years until Broder Daniel resurfaced with this third album.
Preceded by the outstanding single "I'll Be Gone," expectations were higher than ever.
Few were disappointed when the album was released; it was a different sound altogether.
It was still noisy, guitar-based pop music, but it was nothing like their previous albums.
The sound was massive and great, with an almost Spector-esque production.
Also, every one of the ten songs included harmony vocals, giving Berggren's songs new dimentions.
The vocals were also improved a great deal, along with a more mature and poetic approach to writing lyrics.
It kicks off with the single "I'll Be Gone," a characteristic scream of "yeah!" introducing a stunning, infectous riff, and beautiful backing vocals supporting the lyrics of "I won't last long, soon I'll be gone." Although every single track on this album is great, some do stand out.
The epic and beautiful "Whirlwind" is maybe the group's strongest song to this point.
The melancholic "You Bury Me," with vocal harmonies that suggest the Byrds, and, of course, "I'll Be Gone." Broder Daniel Forever is a band at the peak of its powers.
They always sounded like they wanted to write perfect pop songs; on this one they succeeded.
