Baton Rouge MC Kevin Gates released the sequel to his well-received 2014 mixtape, By Any Means, in September of 2017, soon after he began a lengthy prison sentence for felony gun possession.
The release was compiled by Dreka Gates, Kevin's wife and manager, and ranges from his more accessible, melodic material (such as the Joan Osborne-riffing single "What If") to harrowing street tales to sax-themed slow jams.
The mixtape's only guest is PnB Rock, who appears on "Beautiful Scars." By Any Means 2 was released in September of 2017 and hit the Top 100 of the Billboard 200 album chart.
