After composing the score to 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Henry Jackman returns to the franchise for Captain America: Civil War, which finds high-stakes infighting amongst the Avengers following 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Using fewer electronics than he did in The Winter Soldier, the symphonic score features familiar superhero brass and tense, churning strings, but is embellished with touches like occasional electronic effects, vocal cries, and a selection of varied percussion instruments that all contribute to its unsettling tone.
The soundtrack offers over an hour of music, even without the song "Left Hand Free" by Alt-J, which appears in the film but is not included on the recording.
