Produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Puddle of Mudd, Slash), Cauterize is the follow-up to Grammy-winning guitarist and songwriter Mark Tremonti's 2012 debut All I Was.
The material on Cauterize was originally intended for Tremonti's flagship band Alter Bridge, but the heavier, more speed metal-influenced material better suits this project.
The ten-track set is bolstered by a pair of strong singles in "Another Heart" and "Flying Monkeys," as well as some deft work from new bass player Wolfgang Van Halen.
