Originally recorded as a gift for lead singer/songwriter Michael Angelakos' girlfriend, Passion Pit's 2008 EP, Chunk of Change, caught on with listeners and launched the band's career.
Recorded by Angelakos before he added a live touring ensemble for the band's full-length 2009 album, Manners, Chunk of Change nonetheless showcases the band's knack for highly infectious electronic-infused pop.
Although "Sleepyhead" was included on Manners, the EP is worth picking up and such cuts as "Smile Upon Me," "Live to Tell the Tale," and "Better Things" are as catchy and melodic as anything the band would do later.
