This CD covers Cilla Black's career from the start of the '70s until approximately 1976, when she began turning away from recording and increasingly devoted herself to television work.
The first 22 songs here (which kick off with her version of the Beatles' "Across the Universe") represent most of the highlights of that period, and all sound sensational -- a few have been remixed for this release, which hasn't harmed them in any way.
And the producers have appended as tracks 23 and 24 a pair of newly issued mid-'70s recordings, "Faded Images" and "Your Song" -- the latter, a cover of the Elton John/Bernie Taupin song, is worth the price of admission by itself.
The annotation is also very thorough, and as a mid-priced release this is a true bargain for any fan of one of the longest enduring musical talents ever to come out of Liverpool.
