Count on My Love is Tessanne Chin's first album since her independently released 2010 set In Between Words.
More notably, it also follows the Jamaica native's triumphant 2013 run on The Voice.
Concise and polished, Count on My Love plays to Chin's strength as a vocalist who can easily adapt to a number of stylistic backdrops -- with touches of dance-pop, R&B, and, of course, a significant amount of contemporary reggae -- but it's ultimately mature pop.
"Tumbling Down," the coronation song co-written by Ryan Tedder, begins the album, and Chin also benefits from high-profile songwriters and producers like Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, and Diane Warren.
Whether it's a belting anthem or an intimate ballad, each song is conveyed with a high level of conviction.
The only surprise is the lack of guest vocalists, considering Chin's past connections and collaborative work.
