The most significant thing about Cugat Cavalcade is the famous jacket photo of Xavier Cugat holding one of his chihuahuas.
But it's also a treat to have a Columbia album recorded in stereo.
Unfortunately, the album is really nothing more than another collection of old singles.
The new stereo versions are not a significant departure from the originals, or at least not the previous mono re-recordings.
It is nice to have "My Shawl" on LP, the tune most identified with Cugat during his Columbia years.
