Three songs into their third album Dancin' with Wolves, Natural Child sing about "Country Hippie Blues," which is an indication of where their heads are at this time around.

Toning down the grit and garage, Natural Child are fashioning themselves as a bit of a country-rock groove band, mellowing out instead of rocking out, even taking the time to cover Tom T.

Hall's "Nashville's a Groovy Little Town." Although there are some remnants of the Stones, this is a far cry from 2012's For the Love of the Game and, by laying themselves bare, they at times run the risk of seeming like they've merely put on a country costume.

This is where their fondness for boogie comes in handy.

When they kick out a bit of a groove, such as on "Saturday Night Blues" or the litely funky "Out in the Country," they loosen and liven up, creating some country boogie that is decidedly inauthentic and is all the better for it.
