Dark Light's polished production probably has Finnish goth-rock outfit H.I.M.'s like-minded countrymen spinning in their daytime coffins.
While their peers tend to indulge in more earthy (not to say deafening) music-making methods, H.I.M.'s pristine washes of keyboards sound dangerously sunny on the sparkling "Wings of a Butterfly," while the gorgeously romantic title track wouldn't sound out of place on an old episode of Buffy.
Glossy and user-friendly, H.I.M. are the gentler (if not kinder) side of devil worship.
