Released in the fall of 2004 to coincide with one of the band's numerous tours of the U.S., Arch Enemy's Dead Eyes See No Future EP takes its title track from the previous year's widely acclaimed Anthems of Rebellion album, then piles on the extras for the benefit of die-hard fans.
Live tracks include crowd favorites "Burning Angel," "We Will Rise" (complete with cornball intro), and a commanding stomp through "Heart of Darkness." Next, three entertaining covers call out to the elder metal faithful, as the band takes a swing at Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction" (a tad staid, frankly), Manowar's "Kill With Power" (gloriously moronic fun), and Carcass' "Incarnated Solvent Abuse" (a nice trip down memory lane toward guitarist Michael Amott's old exploits).
And for a final bit of garnish, the quite decent promo video for "We Will Rise" figures in the package as well, lending a more complete multimedia experience to the whole caboodle, and making for a nice overall package for Arch Enemy fans.
