Peruvian singer/songwriter Pedro Suárez-Vértiz started working on his third solo album in 1998, teaming up with producers Manuel Garrido-Lecca and Lester Mendez.
Degeneración Actual (Present Degeneration) was recorded in Miami Beach and mastered in New York.
Following the album's title track, Latin ska ("Dejame Vivir"), dance-pop ("Tren Sexual"), and a modern ballad ("El Secreto en Tu Mente") show signs of Pedro Suárez-Vértiz' interesting changeableness, assuming an important role in the Latin rock scene from an experimental perspective.
Degeneración Actual ends with an instrumental track called "China Wife.".
