Destined to Win is the first album from Karen Clark Sheard since 2010's All in One, and her sixth consecutive proper release to reach the Top Five of Billboard's gospel chart.
It begins with the Chic-referencing "The Who Doesn't Matter" (featuring Faith Evans) and alternates between similarly celebratory uptempo numbers and solemn ballads.
The latter crop is highlighted by "Sunday A.M.," released ahead of the album and nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Gospel Performance/Song.
Recorded live at Chicago's House of Hope, and also benefiting from appearances by Donald Lawrence & the Co. ("My Words Have Power") and son J.
Drew Sheard II ("My God Is Big"), this is another worthy addition to the Clark Sheard catalog.
