While the pop/rock industrial genre seemed virtually dead from a mainstream perspective, many artists continued to hone their metallic/dance craft well into the 21st century.
Led by musician Alex Moklebust, Europe's Zeromancer found enough success on their home continent to convince American goth/industrial indie Cleopatra to release Eurotrash in 2002.
Few industrial artists have managed achieve the level of pop and power that Moklebust creates on this impressive disc since Trent Reznor first brought nihilistic dance music to a rock audience.
There are a few plodding moments, but for the most part Zeromancer maintains a high songwriting and production standard throughout this 12-track collection.
Highlights include "Need You Like a Drug," "Wannabe," and the cover of Real Life's '80s hit "Send Me an Angel." With a surprising number of downright catchy tunes, Eurotrash is one of the more notable industrial accomplishments of 2002.
