Five Deadly Venoms is fairly similar to its predecessor, Master Killer, but that's not necessarily a bad thing -- Merauder's brand of urban "hardcore" metal is very well done, and there are no awkward attempts to loosen up the sound with hip-hop rhythms.
The results are not only unremittingly intense, but intelligent and socially aware to boot.
