This independently financed EP was the second release by Chicago doom maestros November's Doom, and the fact that a band this good could be without a recording contract served as a good indication of just how unfairly America dismissed anything heavy metal during the 1990's.
Thankfully, such shoddy treatment couldn't keep them down for long, and their imminent return to good fortune was no doubt aided by these three, top-notch examples of gothic death/doom.
Best of which may be the awesome centerpiece track, "The Jealous Sun," which highlights the sharp contrast between frontman Paul Kuhr's crusty growling and singer Cathy Jo Hejna's angelic tones, and shows that, even at their career nadir, November's Doom stood tall amongst America's premiere doom/death bands.
