Although it was not given the Themes for Young Lovers tag exactly, Percy Faith's winter 1968 LP release, For Those in Love, was another of his albums of contemporary soft rock hits, sanitized through orchestral arrangements and a female chorus.
Having surveyed the first half of 1967 with his previous album, Today's Themes for Young Lovers, he treated the second half of the year here, recasting the hits of Bobby Hebb ("Sunny"), Dusty Springfield ("The Look of Love"), Dionne Warwick ("I Say a Little Prayer"), Petula Clark ("Don't Sleep in the Subway"), the Association ("Never My Love"), Vikki Carr ("It Must Be Him"), the Lettermen ("Goin' Out of My Head"), and Jack Jones ("Live for Life") into his patented style.
(As usual, there was also some filler, such as Faith's own "Waitin' [Round the Bend]," which allowed him to feather his own nest with songwriting royalties.) In general, the material responded well to the treatment, though the perky chorus couldn't adequately address the slightly hysterical tone of the lyrics of "It Must Be Him" or the outsized emotions of "Goin' Out of My Head." Of course, such lapses didn't matter much to Faith's fans, who were just glad to get his versions of the songs they had been listening to recently on the radio.
