An easy listening vocalist with a style that made him Britain's answer to Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro had several hits in the 1960s, most of which can be found on this generous 23-track collection.
Highlights include his smooth versions of "Autumn Leaves," "Born Free," and "When I Fall in Love," as well as his signature (and definitive) version of the James Bond theme "From Russia with Love." A nice set that shows Monro was far more than just a Sinatra clone, a comparison that wasn't all that accurate in the first place.
