German rock band City celebrate their 40th anniversary with the release of Für Immer Jung ("Forever Young").
The group, which was founded in 1972 in East Berlin (in what was then the German Democratic Republic) and had a number one album with 1987's Casablanca (which was also notable for its politically aware lyrics), offers 12 pop/rock tracks with their trademark social criticism woven into songs about relationships and everyday observations.
The album includes covers of Iggy Pop's "In the Death Car" and singer/songwriter Bettina Wegner's 1978 song "Sind so Kleine Hände," with former Karussell member Dirk Michaelis guesting on the latter track.
Dieter Birr of fellow East German rock band Puhdys appears on the album's first single, "Zu Spät.".
