Getting Out of Nowhere signalled a dramatic change for Euroboys.

Firstly, three members of the band quit during the recording, leaving only leader/guitarist/singer Knut Schreiner and percussionist-turned-drummer Anders Møller to finish the album with three brand new members.

Its musical style is also a rather rapid departure from their two previous albums.

Most important is the decision to make songs based on vocals rather than sophisticated guitar riffs.

The job of vocalist was taken by leader Schreiner.

He might not be a "natural" singer, his voice is thin and somewhat nasal, but he sings with plenty of attitude, suiting the songs surprisingly well.

You can hear lots of influences here: the Stooges, the Faces, Sex Pistols, and even the Doors on the version of the traditional tune "Scarborough Fair." Opener "All of My Money" travels into the dangerous fields of prog rock, but in a good way; "Stockholm" is music to start riots to; while "Come On in, Your Time Is Up," the only song recorded with new members, is as powerful as anything the Faces ever made.

Maybe less sophisticated than before, but definitely rawer, this is an interesting change of style.

Quite simply a good rock & roll record.
