Tied into the duo's reality television series of the same name, Go Get It features two new songs: the show's rallying theme song, strong enough to be released as a single, and "Sunday Morning," another one of Mary Mary's fine fusions of traditional and modern sounds.
Otherwise, Go Get It works as a representative overview of the premier contemporary gospel act of the 2000s.
It contains their two biggest crossover hits in "Shackles (Praise You)" -- a Top 40 single -- and "God in Me," which topped the club and gospel charts, went Top Five R&B/Hip-Hop, and was used by professional baseball player Juan Pierre as at-bat music.
At least one song comes from each one of the duo's five studio albums, but not all of the singles are present.
So, it works as an imperfect but very enjoyable introduction for those who watch the show without much knowledge of the stars' music.
