GO: Remixed came a mere seven months after its highly acclaimed predecessor, making it clear that Peter Furler and co.
were not resting on their laurels.
The project featured alternate versions of all but one of the tracks from 2006's GO.
Producers Tedd T.
(Mute Math, Tobymac, Rebecca St.
James, Stacie Orrico, ZOEgirl), Max Hsu (Superchick, Tobymac, ThumpMonks), Lee Bridges (India.Arie) and Newsboys' Jeff Frankenstein each contributed mixes.
The lone new track, "City to City," fit perfectly alongside new editions of the radio hits "Wherever We Go" and "Something Beautiful." Where some remix albums offer little else than filler during a recording hiatus, it seemed Newsboys somehow had more of their trademark grooves and beats just dying to be heard.
Their mastery of dancehall anthems appeared to have no limits.
In this case, the new versions were tweaked enough that fans would have no problem listening to the remix album and the original GO back to back without any danger of getting bored.
Some might even prefer this album to the original.
