French producer Madeon's 2015 debut album, Adventure, topped Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart, so inevitably there was a great deal of pressure for his eventual follow-up.
After touring with Porter Robinson and taking a few years off to write new material, relocating to Hollywood in the process, the much-anticipated Good Faith arrived in November of 2019.
Refraining from using samples this time, Madeon recorded vocals by gospel choirs and soul singers, as well as drums and other live instruments, and chopped them up in order to sound like samples.
He also sang on the majority of the album's songs.
Moving beyond French house and EDM, the album is heavily influenced by R&B, hip-hop, and gospel.
Preceded by three singles, including "All My Friends," Good Faith became Madeon's second full-length to reach number one on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
