Not to be confused with the '70s-rock, disco, and pop-centric original motion picture soundtrack of the same name, the original score version of the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack relies solely on 300 and Watchmen composer Tyler Bates' triumphant score.
For the project, Bates, who had worked before with Guardians director James Gunn on films like Slither (2008) and Super (2010), was given full license to flex his creative muscles, and his rousing score, which features a full orchestra, multiple choirs, and anything else that he could get his hands on, evokes the best of space opera and adventure film music of the past and present.
