Right out of the gate, Limp's Guitarded promises to be a by-the-numbers pop-punk (mostly pop, very little punk) affair; "Entertainer"'s entirely familiar chord progression and melodies borrowed straight from Blink 182 kick off an album filled with politely distorted guitar riffs and mannered singing meticulously cribbed from the Green Day catalog.
"Passed Out," meanwhile, is the album's requisite ska-flavored track.
The music is played competently, and it all sounds fine, but it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that Limp's sound is entirely unoriginal.
Too bad, because the band does have talent -- they just need to find their own voice.
