After exploring a more laid-back and easygoing vibe on their 2012 album Cabin by the Sea, California reggae-rock act the Dirty Heads follow this path even further on their third full-length effort, Home - Phantoms of Summer: The Acoustic Sessions.
True to its title, Home - Phantoms of Summer finds the bandmembers putting away their amps and electric guitars, and recording a set of tunes stripped down to acoustic guitars, bass, drums, and hand percussion, with the reggae and hip-hop elements taking on an easy, party-around-the-campfire feel in these performances.
Selections include "Garland," "Warming Sun," "Sloth's Revenge," and a live take on "Cabin by the Sea.".
