Eros Ramazotti is an Italian pop singer whose inspiration is neither traditional Italian folk nor modern, hard-edged Italian rock, but slick American adult contemporary music.
Listeners won't find a standard like "Come Back To Sorrento" on this ballad-heavy CD, which sounds very much like what you'd hear on a typical adult contemporary station in Boston or Chicago -- except that most of the lyrics are in Italian.
Though Ramazotti doesn't have a bad voice at all, the material tends to be bland and generic.
(Of course, there is a sizable audience for this type of music, both in Italy and America.) With more interesting songs, Ramazotti could prove to be exciting.
