The Italian band Cadaveria's guitar-driven death metal is given its unique slant by the piercing vocals of its siren-like singer, Cadaveria, which can turn in a heartbeat from illicitly alluring to gutturally evil.
Its third album is a realization of the tantalizing gothic promise of its previous releases, with the grinding rhythms and all enveloping guitar of songs such as "Laying in Black" and "100,000 Faces" possessing a darkly sophisticated European influence.
