Lovergirl: The Teena Marie Story collects all of Marie's mid-'80s hits for Epic, including "Lovergirl," "Work It," "If I Were a Bell," "Just Us Two," "Jammin'," and "Ooo La La La." While some casual listeners will find the inclusion of 12" extended mixes somewhat redundant, those mixes actually give a better idea of how Marie's music was appreciated during the time, and makes Lovergirl a fine greatest-hits compilation.
