Moby is a completist and his raw emotion is nomadic and passionate on the six-song EP Move.
A club/house favorite prior to his mega-success in the new millennium, Moby now elevates dance romanticism to another plateau with his magnetic hypnotics.
One would expect nothing less than perfection from Moby; his work cannot slump into the mediocre mainstream.
"All That I Need Is to Be Loved (MV)," featured on his 1995 major release Everything Is Wrong, ascends into swirling trance, layered with big beats and tinged with orchestral soundscapes.
The glassy "Morning Dove" recalls 808 State, circa 1988, complete with conga blasts and worldbeat grooves.
"Morning Dove" is almost haunting, and the same can be said about the two mixes of the EP's title track.
"Unloved Sympathy," with its energetic melody, is majestic with dripping piano loops tightly shadowed over electrophonic trance samples.
Moby is real and earnest so that all feelings can touch the core of the music and vice versa.
The Move EP is a perfect introduction to Moby's craftsmanship and thirsty spirit.
