The former trance and techno DJs Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger broadened their musical horizons while remaining true to their roots in electronic dance music with their 2005 debut, MEMENTO, which dotted minimalist synthesizer melodies throughout their mesmerizing Euro dance tracks.
Their follow-up, 2006'S MOVEMENTS, humanizes the duo's sometimes chilly electronica with disjointed bass squelches set against retro drum machine rhythms on cuts such as "Paper Moon" and "Darko." The exotic-sounding textures of "Pong Pang" and "Mandarine" recall Richard James's more lyrical work, with the heavily trance-influenced "In White Rooms" providing a coolly detached counterpoint to the slowly expanding sonic vistas and mysterious robotnik vocalese of "Wasting Time.".
