For its second Astralwerks album, the Italian electronica duo of Filippo Clary and Massimo Bottini opted for a more accessible but no less inventive sound.
Whereas Gabin's debut was steeped in a European club vibe and presented tunes that were sung mostly in French, 2005's MR.
FREEDOM features a more dynamic sound and vocals entirely in English.
Powerhouse jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater appears on two songs here, but former Orange Juice vocalist Edwyn Collins steals the show with the freewheeling title track, which pushes the boundaries of Gabin's already eclectic aesthetic.
