Though this album is slightly superior to its predecessor, and actually charted in England, old-school Budgie fans should not raise their expectations.
Despite showing a few signs of intelligent life on "She Used Me Up" and the pounding "Superstar," Night Flight ultimately collapses under depressing stabs at melodic hard rock, including the truly atrocious "I Turned to Stone." In fact, the album's most redeeming feature is the inclusion of the four tracks from 1980's semi-respectable If Swallowed, Do Not Induce Vomiting EP.
