Issued abroad in 2006 and in the United States the following year, Ode to Ochrasy marks Mando Diao's third full-length studio album.
On this 14-track set, the Swedish quartet presents another round of garage-influenced indie rock, while calling attention to an increasingly proficient and pop-savvy songwriting approach (see the jaunty "Long Before Rock 'N' Roll" and the Kinks-like "Good Morning, Herr Horst").
Other highlights of Ode to Ochrasy include the surging "Killer Kaczynzki" and the wistful "TV & Me," tunes that display frontman Björn Dixgard's earnest charm, and prove that Mando Diao is deserving of a wider audience than its modest but dedicated European fan base.
