After his scattershot 2013 effort Underground Luxury, pop-rapper B.o.B.
returned with something much more certain, a conceptual LP.
Psycadelik Thoughtz is a druggy, '70s rock-and funk-inspired album that wins because it is so loose, not because it is so necessary.
The MC sounds like he's enjoying this vacation into the land of Funkadelic and Hendrix, and while some of the material is lacking in the punch and return value of his pop material, the LP's wit and enthusiasm helps fill that chasm.
Consider it the weird B.o.B.
album that's good for a lark, but also one that's best left for returning fans.
