Nachtmystium’s soul-burning 2002 debut black metal masterwork is back in print after almost five years of obscurity.
One of the few European-sounding American black metal bands, Nachtmystium is among the few American bands to gain worldwide notoriety in black metal circles.
In addition to six original compositions, REIGN OF THE MALICIOUS also features a Burzum cover (“Lost Wisdom”) and a live cut (“Under the Horns of Darkness”).
Although the band eventually progressed beyond the stringent rules of black metal, Nachtmystium’s debut remains a hallowed release within the genre's canon.
