Prolific flamenco guitarist Armik reprises the lush Spanish-styled world of his 2014 release Romantic Spanish Guitar with a second volume.
As on the first volume, the Iranian-born American musician matches nimble flamenco guitar flourishes with Latin percussion, accordion, and even fiddle on this 11-song set.
Armik's heavily reverbed production and use of synthesizers has always kept his music just a shade away from new age (whose charts he has dominated over the years), but his smooth technique is still that of a very capable guitarist.
While Romantic Spanish Guitar, Vol.
2 is no great leap for him, it's a solid release that dovetails neatly with his previous few offerings.
