Levert still sounded energetic and appealing on such cuts as "Nobody Does It Better" and "Hey Girl." Gerald Levert will never have the same command or dramatic presence as his dad, but he's developed into a sincere, effective vocalist.
But when the raps begin on the title cut or "Nobody Does It Better," not only do they mar the song's pace, they split the listener's focus and change the mood.
It doesn't help that neither rap was exciting, either lyrically or performance-wise.
