As evidenced over the years, "comedy metal" can certainly be a dicey affair.
For every stroke of genius (Spinal Tap), there is a seemingly long line of best-forgotten foolers (Green Jelly).
Picture a more straightforward/less abstract (from a songwriting standpoint) take on Mr.
Bungle's self-titled album from 1991, and you won't be far off from the approach that the chaps in Psychostick indulge in on their 2009 offering, Sandwich.
Another fitting description could be a bunch of drunken frat boys who have decided to take the music plunge, as evidenced by such dimwitted ditties as "Caffeine," "Girl Directions," and "Vah-jay-jay" (the latter of which is a brief tune about a certain part of the female anatomy).
Just when you thought vintage late-'90s funk-metal freakouts had thankfully inhaled their last breath, along comes Psychostick's Sandwich.
