Released in Canada in 2005, SOMETIMES scored a Juno Award in 2007 for Alternative Album of the Year.
Its appealing, whispery acoustic ballads bear scant relation to the scream-heavy post-hardcore played by Alexisonfire, City & Colour leader Dallas Green’s other band.
This is no sudden caprice, though; Green has been playing the soft stuff since his early teens.
There’s the expected heartbreak and wistfulness here, but also songwriting sophistication and true feeling (minus the vocal onanism of a Dashboard Confessional).
