Just a year following his mainstream breakthrough, Michigan singer Bazzi returned with his sophomore effort, the Soul Searching mixtape.
On the heels of his almost-Top 10 single "Mine," Bazzi toned down the pop sheen for the collection, adopting trap beats, chillier atmospherics, and more introspective lyrics in a style that recalled Post Malone and Swae Lee.
In addition to singles "No Way!" and "Soul Searching," the set also included appearances by rappers 6LACK ("Fallin") and 21 Savage ("Focus").
Upon release, the mixtape debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 and landed in the Top 20 in Norway, Canada, and New Zealand.
